Report a Weed
New Naturalisations

|
It is vital that newly naturalised introduced plants be reported, identified, risk assessed and managed as early in the invasion process as possible. For this reason you are encouraged to report any new plant occurances to either the lead weed management agency or herbarium in your State or Territory. If the plant in question is marked "ALERT' in a WEEDeck field identification guide or in the Weed Identification Tool on this site, then please report it by calling 1800 084 881 (local call cost anywhere in Australia) or report it online. It would be of great assistance if you could collect a specimen and preserve it by drying prior to sending it for identification. The Australian Weeds Committee has instituted a Consultative Committee to manage all new weed incursions into Australia. If your report/specimen turns out to be a first for a State or Territory, it will be reported to this committee and action will be taken to assess the problem and undertake eradication if necessary.
